Our stories

Finding ease again

May 25, 2025 · Yasmine Kas Updated on March 31, 2026

After months of uncertainty, something shifted. Not because everything was solved, but because the weight lifted. This chapter is about finding ease again and learning to move forward without fear.

In this story
This time, it did feel different.

Not because everything suddenly fell into place,
but because the weight we’d been carrying finally loosened its grip.

The uncertainty softened.
The tension eased.
And for the first time in a long while, we weren’t scanning the horizon for an exit anymore.

We had found our footing again.

When lightness returned

The sun helped.
The season helped.

But more than that, something inside us settled.

Not in a country or a house,
but in ourselves.

We were still together.
Still choosing each other.
Still able to move forward, even after months that had felt heavy, confusing and at times overwhelming.

That realisation brought a quiet kind of calm.
Not excitement.
Not relief.

Just the sense that we could breathe again.

Moving without fear

Travel no longer felt loaded.
Leaving didn’t feel like a risk.
Staying didn’t feel like a trap.

There was room again for joy.
For ease.
For the unforced kind of happiness that doesn’t need explaining.

Days filled with warmth and simple pleasures.
Children playing.
Laughter returning on its own.

Not as a distraction.
As a result.

We weren’t running anymore.
But we weren’t standing still either.

We didn’t find answers. We found ourselves again.

What stayed with us

The hard months didn’t disappear.
They became part of the story.

But they stopped defining the direction.

What remained was quieter than that.

The knowing that even when things close in,
we find each other.
And we find a way.

Not louder.
Not harder.

Truer.

This wasn’t escape.
And it wasn’t denial.

It was choosing a life that fits,
without needing to defend it.

And that felt like a beginning.
Not perfect.
Not dramatic.

But finally, our own.
