Hi, we are Robert and Yasmine. We are on the road in Europe about six months a year, with our two children.
That did not start out of a sense of adventure. It started because our daughter hit a wall, and because at some point we stopped asking what might work and started asking what she needed. That story is below if you want to read it.
A trip around the world was never going to be us. It became Europe, by car, with our house in the Netherlands still standing. We keep coming back to it. That is not half a solution, it is exactly why this works.
We usually stay for weeks in the same place rather than a weekend. It saves driving, and it means we know a park on day twelve and not just on arrival day. Beyond that we follow the children, or ourselves when it drags on and we want to move.
What you will find here: parks, hotels and days out we have been to ourselves, with what we paid and what fell short. What you will not find: round-the-world trips, extreme hikes and lists of the ten loveliest things. We have not done those, so we have nothing useful to say about them.
